Global warming is changing the way we think
about our environment and one serious issue is how we dispose
of the rainwater falling on our properties. We can all
help by taking a more sustainable approach when planning
new drives, patios or other paving around our homes, or
replacing existing paving.
Interpave has developed design and construction guidance
for responsible rainwater management around the home, intended
for garden designers, contractors and homeowners. The central
aim of this guidance is to avoid putting rainwater into
the drains wherever possible and ideally puts the water
to good use. But if putting the water into the drains cannot
be avoided, then sustainable paving drainage at least slows
down the speed at which it enters the drainage system.
